It’s all about…the Branding.
It appears that the VCU pep band, The Peppas, are the latest in a series of branding efforts taking the collegiate world by storm. They released the VCU Peppas New Logo on 9/22/14 via social media on their Twitter account (@VCUAthleticBand). It’s sleek, simple, and bold which fits the band well. The branding announcement followed the teaser from the band just 2 hours before “going to need you to buckle in. We’re bringing more intensity to game day atmosphere this year. Details…soon”. You may recall that VCU Athletics went through a massive brand refresh last March. It was met with mixed reviews as some fans were fond of the previous brand, which we at VCUSports.com affectionately refer to as “Vintage VCU” while others immediately embraced the sleek, modern new look. It appears that the modernization of collegiate logos is on the rise with even the Atlantic 10 (A-10) sporting a more modern logo this year. Can’t wait to see what other surprises The Peppas have in store for this year…buckle in Ram fans it’s going to be an exciting ride!
