Rams Are IN! #6 VCU Women’s Soccer Advances To A-10 Playoffs!

VCU Women’s Soccer finished above the red line and will compete in the 2017 Atlantic 10 Women’s Soccer Playoffs. The Rams finished A-10 Play with a 5-3-2 record and 17 points to claim the #6 seed.

The Rams were tied with Saint Joseph’s for the 6th place spot. VCU won the tie-breaker over SJU with a 1-0 win over the Hawks back on October 5th. La Salle won the A-10 Regular Season title with a 9-0-1 record and 28 points.

George Mason will be VCU’s opponent in the Atlantic 10 Quarterfinals. The Patriots edged Duquesne by a point to claim the #3 seed; Mason went 6-2-2 during conference play with 20 points this season.

VCU and George Mason battled earlier in October with the Patriots winning 1-0 in Fairfax, VA. The match was highly competitive with the lone goal coming in the 55′ minute as Erin Mitchell hit a Mason cross into the back of the net.

In the A-10 Quarterfinals, the Top 4 seeds will host their match on their home turf. VCU will make another trip to George Mason Stadium on October 29th in hopes of a different result against George Mason.

Kick-Off is scheduled for a 1 PM start in Fairfax, VA. The Atlantic 10 Semi-Finals and Championship match will be hosted at Sports Backers Stadium on Friday, November 3rd and Sunday, November 5th respectively.
